Former Miss Philippines-Earth candidate Sofia Loren Deliu,presently a Police Inspector will be part of the security detail of presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte, according to a report.
Deliu, who is half-Filipina, half-Romanian, joined last year the Miss Philippines-Earth beauty pageant and she garnered the 15th place.
Deliu admitted that it has always been her dream to win Miss Earth. However, she set this aside and prefer to enter the Philippine National Police Academy after graduating from Saint Louis University in Baguio City with a bachelor’s degree in tourism management.
Together with some lady police,Deliu met the Davao City Mayor last sunday and was seen shaking hands and exchanging words with the Mayor.
Before embarking on her Miss Philippines-Earth journey, Deliu was the chief supply officer at the PNP Regional Public Safety Battalion, formerly called the Regional Mobile Group.
“Kami po yung unit na…nagco-combat operations. Kami po ‘yung supporting unit. And under din po sa amin yung SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposa), ‘yung sa mga bombings. Anything that has to do with rescue, kami pong unit yun,” she explained.
